Probably when I was in form five...Madam Ooi was my last English teacher, well actually it's Miss Thulasy...
I am not good in English but I always like and excited to learn English...aside from the language itself, the English teachers are mostly fun and very lively , another reason why I fall to English :) I love allll my English teachers :)
Here are some of my English teachers that I hardly forget :) ;
1) Teacher Minie Gimoh - she taught me English during my primary school. She likes to nag us but she's funny :) The thing that I remember about her, was her advice to us; tidak kira macam mana pandai pun kamu, kalau tiada disiplin, tiada orang yang akan suka kamu...proven to be true :)
2) Teacher Junaidah Sarikol - it's from her we learnt the correct way to pronounce "George Clooney", well ER was such a phenomenon that time...we used to pronounce his name as "George Klo-ney"... no class it's "George Klu-ney" double O, doule O... and she looooves Breakfast Show at Radio 4, well, hitz.fm what..?Gary Linggam was another phenomenon that time...I think he's the first one to come up with the scam call...Green (means young, according to Hj ISA :) ) DJs inspired a lot by Gary L...I was a huge fan of Gary...and that voice! Oh God...Nigel Green..?Oh God :) huge crush...hahaha. Mdm Junaidah is the funniest and the coolest English teacher on earth...very bersahaja...ah not to mention that sleepy eyes she has...adoih naseb baek tidak mengantuk :D
3) Sir Laneng ak Yal - The most nonchalant English teacher (after Mdm Junaidah)...and the first English teacher in my shcool years history teaching English without saying a single word in Bahasa...so the class often went silent...the unforgetable moments; "class, why is that you all just say YES and NO...?"... :D "Shall I compare thee to the summmmerrr daaay.." Sonnet 18...poem recitation session... :D
4) Madam Ooi - creative, just like Sir Laneng, never speaks Bahasa when teaching, often out of breath, talk very fast, serious look but very funny actually...I was sooooo motivated to write good fiction composition during that time (but I never scored A...never mind) ...Madam Ooi fueled us to write creatively, unfortunately I am no longer macam begitu...I wish I could...
After years leaving school, two days ago I received a short note from an English guru... :) perhaps to certain, it's nothing but to me it's BIG :)
I'm going to keep it... thank you Madam Vun Jing Shu... :)
P/S; Now I realise, I never want to be a great English Guru, but I always want to be a great English student...I wonder when it'll be :)
